Aberdeen are set to land a 10 per cent cut of Bojan Miovski's transfer fee as the former Dons striker edges closer to signing for Rangers.

A move to Ibrox seems be all but complete for the North Macedonian as he closes in on a move - painful viewing for Aberdeen fans who saw him net 44 goals in 98 games during his time at Pittodrie before landing them a club record fee a year ago.

He joined Girona for £6.8m last summer but struggled in La Liga and is now, after making it clear he wanted a permanent exit rather than a loan, on the verge of a return to Scotland with Rangers.

A report from RG has pored over the mechanisms behind the transfer and notes that Aberdeen did in fact explore a possible return for Miovski – but his insistence on a permanent move blew that one out the water.
