Holyrood authorities have said no covert device has been “found” after MSP Colin Smyth was charged over allegations of a hidden camera in a Parliament toilet .

Presiding Officer Alison Johnstone issued the statement after a “sweep” of the building was made by police.

Smyth was charged by police on August 5th over the possession of indecent images .

The Record yesterday revealed he is also facing charges of placing a camera in a toilet in the Scottish Parliament building.
