Already lost power

The letter from Nancy Conley in Saturday's paper was spot-on when she said, "This is lunacy and our senators and congressmen know it, yet they do nothing." The day before, Richie Roy wrote a letter which stated that when he wrote to a congressman, he'd "only get standardized letters with talking points about something that is not usually associated with my question." I've had the same responses to my emails.

Apparently our congressmen can't even hire legislative assistants who can discern the subject of an email or letter so they can send the appropriate canned response. How are we supposed to trust them to stand up to the flood of misinformation we get every day and do the right thing? And if they can't even stand up to misinformation, how will they ever stand up to t
