BRAINERD — It’s shaping up to be an uneventful Labor Day weekend in the Brainerd lakes area and all of central Minnesota, at least as far as weather is concerned.

There is a slight chance of rain early Friday, Aug. 29, followed by a chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the Brainerd area, according to the forecast from the National Weather Service in Duluth. The next chance of rain doesn’t arrive until Monday afternoon.

For Saturday, the weather service’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high temperature of 76 degrees and calm winds around 5 mph. For Sunday, the forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, a high temperature of 76 degrees and winds around 5 mph.
