1. Religious group ran forced labor centers in St. Louis County homes, charges say

A reverend forced people to work for years in St. Louis area call centers, including some that operated out of Wildwood, Eureka and Chesterfield, federal prosecutors say.

Workers were erwuired to meet impossible donation quotas, according to prosecutors.

The indictment says that if they failed, workers were publicly humiliated, assaulted, given food restrictions, not allowed to sleep and were psychologically abused.
