Small business fines for crime surveillance prevention?
Have I got this right? A small business owner puts up a plug and play camera system to protect his property and employees and is fined for not having a permit. Is this in any way protecting victims of crime? Doesn’t the Winnipeg Police Service often request the public’s help with video images? They sure do. Now often the police don’t even attend calls for service for major crimes such as break in reports. So why discourage video surveillance tool within the community.
