Sadiq Khan is set to ban all cars from Oxford Street in September - as part of a trial aimed at supporting a "traffic-free" city. The London Mayor, from the Labour Party will ban vehicles from passing through Oxford Street on Sunday, September 21.

As part of the trial, Oxford Street will go traffic-free from Orchard Street to Oxford Circus between 12pm and 8pm. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “I’m excited to announce our landmark ‘This is Oxford Street’ event which will take place in September and offer Londoners, visitors, and businesses a glimpse of what the nation’s high street could look like in the future.
