PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - A pedestrian died after they were hit by a driver in northeast Portland early Friday morning, according to police.
At about 4:44 a.m., officers responded to a call of a crash involving a pedestrian in the 500 block of NE Columbia Boulevard.
Officers arrived to the scene and found the pedestrian dead. The person’s name has not yet been released.
Police say the driver involved in the crash stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Northeast Columbia Boulevard will be closed in both directions between Northeast MLK Jr. Boulevard and Northeast 11th Avenue while the Major Crash Team conducts an investigation. Police say the closure will last a couple of hours.
