An Aberdeen city centre restaurant that was devastated by a huge fire last year has announced it will be reopening this autumn.

Vovem was forced to close after a blaze tore through the rear of the restaurant on September 26, with smoke seen billowing above Union Street as firefighters rushed to the scene.

Several streets were cordoned off, and the Union Row building was left with significant damage, but there were thankfully no injuries during the fire.

Bosses announced the restaurant would be closed indefinitely while work was carried out to restore the venue, with the kitchen area worst hit by the blaze.
