WINCHESTER, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Drivers in Winchester and Clark County should be on the lookout for traffic safety checkpoints this weekend.

According to the Winchester Police Department’s Facebook page, officers will conduct a checkpoint Saturday on Lexington Road.

Police say they will be checking to ensure drivers are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, that vehicles and operators are properly licensed, and that drivers have valid registration and insurance. Officers will also be enforcing seat belt and child restraint laws and checking to make sure all vehicle equipment is working correctly.
