Bellevue Marshal Kirtus Gaston swore in Emanuel (Manny) Marin on Monday as the fourth and newest police officer in Bellevue.

Gaston read a short statement to the City Council on Monday, introducing Marin, 28.

Gaston said Marin served in the U.S. Army Reserve for six years as a chaplain assistant prior to starting his law enforcement career.

“Manny was raised in the Wood River Valley for a short time while his father had a restaurant in Ketchum,” Gaston said. “When Manny was seven years old his family moved to Twin Falls.”

Marin speaks conversational Spanish and has been in law enforcement for just over five years, working in the Magic Valley, Gaston said.
