On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Canada said it will not hear an appeal of lower-court rulings that deemed a stretch of Sauble Beach to be within the boundaries of the First Nation’s reserve. Article content

In April 2023, Ontario Superior Court Justice Susan Vella recognized that an additional 2.4-kilometre strip of the busy tourist beach, from the Sauble Beach sign at the end of Main Street to about 6th Street North, “is and always has been part of Saugeen First Nation’s reserve.”
