The Natural Land Institute has secured a conservation easement for a 40-acre property in Carroll County. The easement, donated by landowners Jim and Marilyn Anderson, ensures the land's protection while keeping it in private ownership, according to a community announcement.

The property features old growth woodland, savanna remnants, a wetland seep and a creek. The conservation easement includes a forestry management plan to maintain the land as a high-quality wildlife habitat and to preserve the health of its trees.
