HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)-- Blasting will begin on Interstate 83 in Harrisburg in September.

PennDOT said crews will conduct blasting operations along I-83 in the area of 19th Street in the City of Harrisburg, starting Monday, September 8. There will be rolling stops in each direction of I-83.

According to PennDOT, blasting will continue on Monday through Thursday from 12 to 2 p.m. for several weeks.

The work is being performed for excavation activities associated with the I-83 Capital Beltway Project, per PennDOT. Rolling stops will be in place in both directions of I-83 between Route 581 in Cumberland County and the Eisenhower Interchange in Dauphin County, PennDOT said.
