BROWN COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - One person is dead in a crash between a semi and a car in Brown County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened on Ohio 32 and Stieman Road in Washington Township around 6:30 a.m. Friday, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A 2006 Chevy Impala was following too close to the semi and hit the semi’s trailer, troopers explained.

After hitting the trailer, troopers said the Chevy traveled underneath it.

The passenger in the Impala, 57-year-old Lawrence Allen, of Manchester, died at the scene of the crash, OSP said.

The driver of the Chevy was trapped in the car and had to be extricated. The driver was flown to UC Medical with serious injuries, but he is expected to survive, OSP said.
