Bancroft and Centre Hastings are planning to build new water towers funded in part by the Ontario government.

Centre Hastings will receive nearly $4.8 million and Bancroft $3.65 million.

Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee made the announcements Aug. 25 in Bancroft and Aug. 27 in Centre Hastings.

“Small and rural municipalities have limited resources to support their infrastructure needs, especially something as important as clean safe drinking water,” Bresee stated in a news release.

Centre Hastings’ tower will mean the municipality will have the capacity to support the building of about 1,107 homes.
