The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of Muhammad Abd al-Aziz Abu Zayda, a senior leader of ISIS, in an airstrike in Gaza. The announcement was made via the official X account of the IDF, stating that the operation took place in the Al-Bureij area.

In a post titled "DF Eliminates the Senior-most Terrorist in the ISIS Terror Organization in the Gaza Strip," the IDF detailed that Abu Zayda held a high-ranking position within ISIS and was responsible for policy-making, planning, and executing operations in the Gaza Strip, Judea, Samaria, and Sinai.

The statement highlighted that the ISIS organisation had been actively involved in combat against IDF forces and was engaged in transferring combat equipment and raising funds for terrorist activities from Judea and Samaria to Gaza. The IDF reaffirmed its commitment to continue operations against terrorist organisations in the region.

Additionally, the IDF reported a separate airstrike earlier in the day that targeted Ahmed Na'im Matuk, a commander in Hezbollah's "Radwan" Force, in southern Lebanon. The IDF described Matuk as having advanced multiple terror plots against Israel, which they claimed violated existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

The IDF's operations reflect ongoing tensions in the region, with a focus on eliminating perceived threats to Israel's security.
