Gas prices nationally are the lowest for Labor Day weekend since 2020.

The lower gas prices are largely due to the fact that oil prices remain low.

As of today, AAA Alabama reports that gas prices nationally are down to an average of $3.20 a gallon. In Alabama, they average $2.82 a gallon.

Today’s $2.82 average is actually a little higher than the average of $2.77 from a month ago, but they are lower than the $2.96 average from Labor Day weekend last year.

In our area, the lowest average price is $2.79 in Lee County, while the highest is $3.06 in Perry County.
