KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City native Heidi Gardner is leaving ‘Saturday Night Live’ after eight seasons with the show.

According to a report from CNN, Gardner and Michael Longfellow are leaving the show ahead of Season 51, joining Devon Walker and Emil Wakim as the third and fourth cast members to leave the show this week.

Gardner was the longest-tenured current female cast member as of last season. Morning Headlines: August 28

During her time on the show, she was well known for her “Weekend Update” characters. She played an instrumental role in the show when Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce hosted the show during Season 48.

‘Saturday Night Live’ returns to NBC on Oct. 4 with the season premiere of Season 51.
