Officers have apprehended a man from Fort Macleod on allegations relating to child pornography.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s (ALERT) Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) and Fort Macleod RCMP worked together on the investigation.

They say they searched a home in the community on Wednesday, August 27, and apprehended a suspect.

Jerry Lee Thompson, 52, of Fort Macleod, is charged with making, distributing, possessing and accessing child pornography, as well as failing to comply with a court order.

ALERT ICE says Thompson has been arrested in the past for similar offences, and was bound by court-ordered conditions upon his prior release..

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 3, 2025.
