Edinburgh Northern veterans (over-35) rugby team enjoyed mixed fortunes on their visit to Germany for a couple of matches.

In maintaining a reputation for being among capital rugby’s most sociable tourists Northern opened with a 15-20 defeat at the hands of Cologne counterparts.

However, they quickly bounced back to beat Esch, 50-7.
