A pensioner has sadly died following a collision with a tipper truck.

The emergency services were called to a crash involving a black Skoda and Scania truck at 11am on August 21 to Wolverhampton Road, at the junction of Saredon Road, in Cannock .

A man, in his 70s, the driver of the car, was taken by ambulance to hospital where he sadly died on Saturday (23 August).

His next of kin has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries.
