An Amazon delivery driver sustained critical injuries after he was hit by his own van in Birmingham .

The driver was on Chester Road in Castle Bromwich when he was struck just before 3.40pm on Thursday (August 28).

Paramedics administered advanced life support at the scene before he was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital .

Today, the global delivery firm confirmed one of their drivers had been involved in an incident.

They also said they were assisting West Midlands Police with their investigations.
