A man accused of buying cars with a fake driver’s license in North Texas was arrested before he could pull off the same scheme in Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department , Gilberto Mojica, 22, was caught on Wednesday trying to buy a vehicle worth nearly $35,000 from a dealership on the city’s west side.

Investigators said he was using a fake Texas driver’s license under the name “Jonathan Jaime.”

HPD’s Vehicle Fraud Unit later discovered Mojica had already purchased three other vehicles from dealerships in the Dallas–Arlington area using the same identity. Those cars, valued at nearly $100,000, have since been recovered and will be returned to the dealerships.
