The downtown dining scene is about to get a major shake-up. Top Chef Canada Season 11 winner Chanthy Yen is set to open his first restaurant as both co-owner and executive chef, and it’s bringing Cambodian cuisine to the fore in a way the city hasn’t quite seen before.

Slated for a November opening, Touk (Khmer for “boat”) will take over the former Archer space, which earned a Michelin Guide nod before its sudden and unceremonious closure back in May. Yen’s restaurant will mark a fresh start for the address, transforming it into a destination that draws equally from heritage, storytelling, and authentic culinary technique.
