This month marks the 41st season of the Vancouver Fringe Festival , when Granville Island comes alive with unconventional theatre, creative storytelling and risk-taking. Born from the spirit of the OG Fringe in Edinburgh, the local festival runs on a lottery system that gives everyone from first-timers to established acts a shot at the stage. Bonus: Artists keep 100 per cent of their ticket sales.
