GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - In 2017, Kadance Fredericksen created ‘ Kada’s Promise ’ to provide teddy bears and blankets to children in foster care, homeless shelters, abuse shelters, and hospitals.

In February, Fredericksen died in a car crash on SR 4 in Santa Rosa County.

Now, her family and best friend, Shar Nelson, are continuing her mission to help children who need comfort and love.

The non-profit has grown to have ambassadors in 48 states and seven countries, and is looking to continue bringing on more.

Leaders said a main goal is to be able to provide law enforcement grab bags that will include a teddy bear to give to kids as they are usually the first on the scene.
