A motorcycle crash in Maryland left two people seriously hurt and one airlifted to shock trauma, police said.
On Thursday, Aug. 28, at around 5:40 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Jumpers Hole Road in Pasadena to investigate a reported collision, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Investigators said a Kia Telluride was exiting the Jumpers Junction parking lot and trying to cross lanes to turn north on Ritchie Highway when it was struck on the driver’s side by a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling south.
The impact sent the Harley across the median, where it came to rest in the northbound lanes, police said.
The 30-year-old motorcyclist from Pasadena was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries, authorities reported.
His passenger, a 26-year-old woman, was rushed by ambulance to the same hospital in stable condition.
The 56-year-old Kia driver from Millersville and her two passengers, ages 70 and 88, were not injured, officials said.
The Anne Arundel County Police Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating.
