LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department arrested a man Thursday morning after officers say they found an explosive device, crystal meth and a stolen E-bike in his possession.

Just before 8:30 a.m., officers were checking the field south of Northwest 12th Street and Cornhusker Highway along the northside of Oak Creek for trespassers per the Lower Platte South NRD.

Officers said they contacted 63-year-old Lynn Cavanaugh sleeping in a tent. He was found in possession of a stolen E-bike with a makeshift battery hot wired to the bike, according to LPD.

Police said Cavanaugh complained of weakness and requested to be taken to the hospital by LFR. During this time, he asked an officer to carry his backpack and gave consent to search it, the police report shows.
