White Rock RCMP are investigating early morning gunfire that left the garage door of a Pacific Avenue home riddled with bullet holes this week.

A neighbour told Peace Arch News he heard what "sounded like machine gun fire" at around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 27), and that police were on the scene of a home in the 15500-block of Pacific "for the day."

"They marked the bullet (holes) on the garage door and examined the crime scene and have been talking to neighbours looking for video footage," the neighbour said.

Const. Chantal Sears confirmed Friday (Aug. 29) that a shooting investigation is underway. She added the incident appears targeted, and that no injuries occurred.

It's unclear at this time if there are any extortion connections to the incide
