Testing of some of the most popular beverages found some unsettling results.

A study from the University of Birmingham in the U.K. found that all drinks tested contained microplastics with the highest concentrations being in hot beverages like tea and coffee.

The study’s lead author, Mohamed Abdallah, said that the most striking finding was that microplastics are not just in water, but in all drinks tested.

“We found a ubiquitous presence of microplastics in all the cold and hot drinks we looked at, which is pretty alarming,” Abdallah said.

Here’s what you need to know about the common beverages that have the most microplastics per liter:

Hot tea: 49 to 81 MPs per liter

Hot coffee: 29 to 57 MPs per liter

Iced tea: 24 to 38 MPs per liter

Iced coffee: 31 to 43 MPs per liter
