ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A man charged with murder and related crimes will serve life in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to his part in the death of 19-year-old Jaylin Johnson.

On July 6, 2023, Johnson was shot and killed near the MetroLink station in the 7000 block of St. Charles Rock Road. Investigators say now 22-year-old Demetrius Strother and his accomplices attacked Johnson, taking his belongings and shooting him .

Strother was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action. He pleaded guilty and received a sentence of life in prison plus 10 years.
