Syracuse, N.Y. - Police are investigating the overdose death of a 4-year-old girl in Syracuse, according to Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick.

The girl was found dead at a home in the 100 block of Lakeview Avenue Wednesday around 10:55 a.m., said Kieran Coffey, a spokesperson for Syracuse Police. Lakeview Avenue is a three-block street on the city’s West Side.

The child was not breathing and was suffering a cardiac or respiratory arrest, according to Onondaga County 911 Center dispatches.

Fitzpatrick said investigators have identified the drug that caused the overdose but would not make the information public at this time.
