A tip from a horseback rider along Vivian Line has helped Stratford officials locate nearly all of the city’s missing swans.
All but one of the six birds that disappeared from the Avon River last week have now been spotted downstream, Stratford’s parks and forestry manager Quin Malott confirmed Friday. Three of the four swans found by the horseback rider have already been caught and returned to their winter quarters on Morenz Drive, Malott added.
“It’s a relief that we’ve got eyes on them now,” Malott said. “They’re not where we want them, but they are accounted for. Five of six are accounted for, and I assume the other one’s out here too.”
