YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - A Wampum man was sentenced in federal court this week in a child sexual abuse material case.
Thomas Hyatt-Baney was sentenced to 17 years in prison on charges of production and attempted production of material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor. Hyatt-Baney will also have to serve 15 years of probation when he gets out of prison.
The judge also ordered a restitution hearing on November 17, when an amount will be set.
According to the indictment, Hyatt-Baney produced visual depictions of the sexual exploitation of a minor sometime between May and June 2023.
He pleaded guilty to the charge against him on April 23. Two other felony charges were dismissed.
