CLEVELAND, Ohio – Multiple skin-care and other health products have been recalled because of the threat of contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The agency said DermaRite Industries LLC of North Bergen, New Jersey, is expanding its voluntary recall initiated on July 16 because of a potential microbial contamination identified as Burkholderia cepacia complex.
Burkholderia cepacia complex in these products may result in life-threatening infections if the products are used by immune-suppressed individuals or by people attending to immune-suppressed individuals. For healthy individuals with minor lesions, use of the product may result in local infections.
