TYLER, Texas — A Tyler man accused of using stolen credit cards to buy over $21,000 worth of Walmart merchandise was arrested.

Israel Arroyo, 43, was booked into the Smith County Jail on debit/credit card abuse Thursday.

Officers responded to the Walmart located at 3820 Hwy 64 West about a man reportedly picking up a large beverage order that was purchased with stolen credit cards, Tyler police said.

Police said Arroyo made multiple pick-ups from online orders at different Walmarts in Tyler with credit cards that were stolen. On Thursday, officers recovered more than $5,100 in stolen beverages from Arroyo’s home. As of Friday, they have determined the theft amount as over $21,000.

Further charges could be filed, according to police.
