DELTONA, Fla. (WFLA) — An expecting couple spoke out after falling victim to a rental scheme in Florida.

According to NBC affiliate WESH, Lindsey Russo, her fiance, Michael Rios, along with Lindsey's eight-year-old son, found a house on a popular website they were eager to rent. However, things took a turn when they began communicating with the owner, "Jack."

The couple received a contract that appeared to be legitimate from Jack, and were able to access a website that provided a code to enter the home.

Then Jack began to continually request more money, tacking on more fees such as $1,500 for a deposit, $600 for part of the first month's rent, $554 to pay the balance of the first month's rent, and $400 for a dog deposit.
