A judge has ruled against the Maricopa County Community College District in its battle against the county, saying the school district was not entitled to have millions of dollars returned to its accounts after it was revoked by government officials.
The issue stems from a 2015 class action lawsuit known as Qasimyar v. Maricopa County , which ended in property owners successfully arguing that they had been overcharged in their property taxes in certain cases. As a result, taxpayers across the Valley were owed nearly $330 million in refunds.
