BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — As Labor Day weekend approaches, Kentucky State Police Post 3 will join law enforcement agencies across the country in Operation C.A.R.E., or the Crash Awareness and Reduction Effort.
The agency says the initiative is happening Aug. 29 through Sept. 1 to focus on keeping Kentucky’s roadways safe during a major travel holiday.
Throughout the Labor Day weekend, troopers will increase patrols on highways and interstates, with special attention given to impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving and failure to wear seatbelts.
Troopers say the goal is to reduce crashes and save lives.
