WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A 17-year-old boy pleaded guilty to a series of charges on Friday, including firing multiple shots inside an elementary school playground, according to the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia.
Travis Thomas, of Washington, D.C., is being tried as an adult after pleading guilty to assault with intent to kill while armed and two counts of armed carjacking.
According to court documents, on April 20, Thomas was involved in an online argument with a person from a "rival crew," which prompted him to drive to the C.W. Harris Elementary School playground and fire over 15 shots.
Court documents said one of the victims was shot in the forehead and sustained a skull fracture, requiring surgery to remove the bullet.
