WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A 19-year-old man will spend the next 14 years in prison after being sentenced Friday for two armed carjackings, according to the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia.
Erick Alvarenga, of Washington D.C., pleaded guilty on June 23 to two counts of carjacking and two counts of possession of a firearm during a crime of violence.
According to court documents, Alvarenga was charged with his involvement in two carjackings that occurred days apart, with one taking place on Dec. 28, 2024, and another on Jan. 3, 2025.
