GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - Friday, the city of Gulfport’s proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026 was delivered to city council members, representing the administration’s final revision ahead of the budget public hearing on September 2 at 5:15 p.m. at Gulfport City Hall.

The budget outlines the city’s projected revenues and expenditures for the coming fiscal year, including increased allocations for the Gulfport Police Department, infrastructure improvements, capital projects and other vital public services.

Despite revenues failing to keep pace with cost increases throughout all areas of the economy, the city says it’ll be able to meet its obligations without drawing from operating reserves.
