LUCEDALE, Miss. (WLOX) - On Thursday, officials with the George County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of two people on drug and gun charges following a 30-minute chase.

Just after 1 a.m. Thursday morning, a George County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Michael H. Sutton of Lucedale on Don Barton Road.

Sutton refused to comply, leading to a pursuit. The vehicle’s passenger, 42-year-old Michelle L. Hile of Lucedale, allegedly threw things from the window during the chase.

The vehicle came to a stop after deputies successfully placed spike strips. A search led to the discovery of multiple firearms, drugs, jewelry, coins, and other property.

Sutton faces multiple charges, including:

possession of a controlled substance

possession of a firearm by a convicte
