A 27-year-old London man is facing several firearm-related charges after reports of a gunshot west of the city’s downtown this week.

Officers were called to a residence in the area of Wharncliffe Road South and Bruce Street on Wednesday around 10:30 p.m. after receiving calls about a loud noise believed to be a gunshot.

After their arrival, police said they found evidence that a firearm had been discharged.

A suspect was arrested with the assistance of police dogs, police said.

No injuries were reported.

During a search of the residence, police seized an open black trigger lock, two spent 9mm casings, eight 9mm rounds of ammunition and one 9mm hollow-point round.

No firearm was located, police said.

A 27-year-old from London is charged with eight offences.
