STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — This weekend, Snug Harbor’s Chinese Scholar’s Garden will transform into a hub of wellness and creativity.

Staten Island’s Girl Scout Troop 5529 is hosting a free wellness workshop for the community in an effort to earn their Bronze Award, a prestigious Girl Scout recognition for community service projects.

Participants will explore ways to manage stress, bullying and anxiety through yoga, meditation and art. The workshop will also highlight the importance of unplugging from devices and spending time outdoors.

Each activity will be led by the four oldest junior girls themselves, with renowned Koto player Yumi Kurosawa , providing live music during meditation and sketching.
