RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis has sent a shockwave of fear and concern through the Catholic school community across the country, including right here in the Commonwealth.

“The concerns around mass has been something that we brought up previously, and this really heightened the urge to revisit that discussion,” said Megan Andrews, a mother with two kids in Catholic school in the Richmond area.

While she loves the community, she gets concerned about how the mass, which students are required to attend, is open to the public when students are there.

“All of the safety measures that we have in place at our school is not done to the best of its ability when it comes to mass,” she said.
