The daily bus service that transports passengers from downtown Detroit to downtown Windsor through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel will run its final route Saturday night, ceasing a tradition dating back to 1930 when the international crossing first opened.
The last daily bus scheduled in Detroit is Saturday’s 11:40 p.m. stop outside the Old Mariner’s Church, 170 E. Jefferson Ave., the historic church next to the U.S. entrance/exit of the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. The bus, operated and funded by the city of Windsor, Ontario, will continue to provide special event bus service to major sporting events and concerts in Detroit until December, according to the city’s website.
