BROOKLYN – Estonian national Andrey Shevlyakov on Friday was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Peggy Kuo in Brooklyn federal court on charges of conspiracy and seventeen other counts related to a scheme to source U.S.-made technology for Russia. He was extradited from Estonia on Thursday, according to a press release from the office of U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Joseph Nocella, Jr.

Shevlyakov is accused of engaging in a years-long effort to procure and deliver hundreds of thousands of dollars in sensitive tech to groups including Russian defense contractors and government agencies.
