BROOKLYN — Developer Yitzchok Katz has expanded his Gowanus holdings, purchasing 264 Butler St. for $15.3 million, property records show. The property, owned by Domal Transportation since 1980, contains a 17,400-square-foot, one-story industrial building, for which Katz has filed demolition permits. It sits adjacent to a vacant lot at 172 Third Ave., which Katz acquired in November for $22 million, according to Crain’s New York Business.

Katz has not filed formal plans for either property, but last year applied to enroll 172 Third Ave. in the state’s brownfield cleanup program. That application described an apartment building with ground-floor retail, with 25% affordable units.
